FAQs
Common questions
Can hosts contribute to each tent so guests pay less?
Yes. You can cover any portion of each tent on the booking page, £100, £150, whatever you want to subsidise. Guests see the reduced price and only pay the difference plus any extras they add. We invoice you for your contribution once bookings come in.
Can guests pick different packages within the same event?
Yes. Guests choose their own package (Unfurnished, Essentials, Luxury) on the booking page, and add bed and bedding upgrades if they want. You can let them choose freely, or lock in one package for everyone if you prefer.
Can guests book just one night instead of the full event?
Yes. Guests can choose individual nights, and you can set a different price for each night.
Is there a deadline for guests to book?
No hard cutoff, but bookings tend to slow about a month out and we usually close the booking page a week before your event so we can plan crew and load. Earlier is better for us, late bookings are usually workable.
How does payment work?
We take a delivery-fee deposit upfront from the host to confirm the event. Guest payments come in as they book, and the final balance is settled with the host before the event.
What if a guest cancels?
Our cancellation policy applies. The refund depends on how much notice you give. Hosts can re-list a cancelled tent on the booking page so other guests can claim it.
Can guests indicate who they want to share a tent with?
Yes. We add a "who are you sharing with" field to the booking form so guests can pair up. The system does not match guests automatically, but we both see their requests.
Can guests pick where they sleep?
We decide where each tent goes. Tell us which guests would like to stay near each other and we will do our best. We're building a layout designer that lets guests pick the actual tent on a map.
How does this compare with reserving hotel rooms?
Hotels may have a booking deadline, and guests may end up staying in different places. Bell tents keep everyone at the venue, with one booking page for your guests.
Can guests share tents?
Yes, a 5m bell tent sleeps up to 4 comfortably. Common arrangements: couples take a tent, single friends share, families book one tent per family. Guests choose their arrangement when they book.
How is this different from Airbnb / hotel booking sites?
Your booking page is for your guest list. It only shows tents for your event and uses your event name.
Can my parents book a tent if they don't use email?
Yes. They can phone us and we will make the booking for them.
How do guests pay online?
Payments run through Stripe.
