Pitching a stretch tent in the Calder and Holme valleys.
The steepest gardens we work on are in these two valleys. Ground drops away from the house fast, the plot is often terraced into three or four levels, and the moor and the reservoirs start a mile above the town. A canopy with no rigid frame steps down those levels and runs off a house gable or a mill wall to gain covered space. The thing to sort early is the lane: a lot of these plots are reached by one narrow road with nowhere to turn a loaded van.
About ninety minutes each way, so the build is the day before as standard and the strike is the day after. Two runs in a weekend are fine at this range.
