On the ground
Pitching a stretch tent in the Ribble Valley.
Good pasture on the valley floor, soft enough to peg properly and flat enough to carry a full span, with the ground rising quickly once you leave it. Higher sites catch the weather coming over the Pennine edge. We drop the span and double the anchors on those, and use the field walls as a windward edge where a site has them.
Two hours each way. The build is always the day before, never the morning of, and we want the access details and a photo of the ground up front, because a wasted trip at this distance costs a day.

A marquee is a rigid aluminium frame with vertical walls and a fixed rectangular footprint. It wants level ground, or a subfloor to make the ground level, and the site has to suit the rectangle.
A stretch tent is tensioned canvas held on aluminium poles and steel ground anchors, with no rigid frame. It shapes to your site: around trees, tight against a wall or a building, down a slope, across a plot that is not square. It sits lower, so it handles wind well, and it looks like a sculpture rather than a shed.
Prices start at £995 inc VAT fully set up, and a Medium at £1,750 covers 120 seated. If a framed marquee really is the right answer for your event, we will say so.

Festoon lighting needs around 1kW per tent, so you will want a generator or a venue hookup. We will talk that through before the day.

Will it cope with the weather in Longridge?
